
My professional development plan
As a future teacher, in term of improving my teaching performance, personality, and professionalism I have to provide a PDP (professional development plan) before going to the TP (teaching practice). Moreover, planning is an essential strategy to see what you are going to do and to make sure that we are using various strategies to develop ourselves. This plan contains 5 competencies area, which describes the goals of the competencies and the strategies that I will use during my practice.

The first goal is Conducting exhibitions for students and teachers because it will show that I can produce an attractive thing that involves different grades, which will expand my professionalism skills. In addition, I will apply this goal through organizing an educational exhibition that shows a various type of teaching material for teachers and students. As well as that, I will conduct classroom observation of peers, the MCT and the MST, and feedback sessions by observing 2 lessons of my peer’s classes, and I will offer feedback after the lesson. The next goal is planning to use different learning styles via using activities that allows all learners with visual, auditory, and kinaesthetic to participate. In addition to this, I will show videos in the engagement stage to suit students learning styles, because it might motivate students to participate and involve in the lessons. furthermore, I am Planning to use settling and staring activities in the classes by applying a motivation routine to involve the students at the beginning of the classes such as: (I am awake, alert, a life, enthusiastic). Likewise, I will use effective actions to manage the students like three hand claps when they will make noises, and there will be a motivation chart as well. Using settling and staring activities in the classes is useful because it will help me to deal easier with the learners in term of organizing them in the class and prepare them to learn new things.

In the goal of managing students’ behavior I will use “Bank blocks” as a behavior band, which the students will collect and lose money as they behave in the class, also I will post classroom rules in the wall and will remind the students at the beginning of the classes. Thus, the bank blocks and the classroom rules will remind the students to behave in a good way because they will be in front of the learners, and it will be easier for the teacher to just point in the behavior materials to remind the learners about the banishment and the rules. Moving to the time management goal, I will allocate a specific time for each of the stages and activities, and I will use “sand clock” and “online Timer” to manage the time during the activities. Managing time is a suitable goal because it will affect positively in providing more learning times and will help me to accomplish everything that I am planning to do the lessons.

Subsequently, I will provide self and peer assessments, by engaging students in peer corrections and giving feedback, because it will support students for deeper understanding of the subject and increase students’ responsibility skills. Following, I will use formative and summative assessments such as worksheets, posters, verbal tasks as formative assessments, and quizzes as summative assessments. The first reason to use assessments that it presents the learners’ weaknesses and strength, also it assessed the lesson outcomes at the end of the given instructions.

Besides, I am going to make self-reflections that will be done after presenting each lesson by writing post-lesson reflections or journals to identify my weaknesses and strengths. Therefore, I would apply self-reflection because it will improve my ability to understand my weaknesses and strength, and it will help me to enhance my teaching and to use more effective strategies.
